Canon 1Dx, 600mm, 1000iso, f6.3, 1/1600th, Manual Funny car driver Matt Hagan would take the top spot in Atlanta with a sensational 4.06 which also is the new track record.

Following the delay of last weekends race here in Atlanta we would return to Commerce for week two of the Southern Nationals. Only one day of qualifying for the pro drivers with the threat of rain made for some stressed out race teams as we head towards the midpoint of the regular season.

With last weeks action being rained out I would spend the week hanging out around Georgia fishing at various lakes and rivers. It was a good relaxing break from the stress of being a full time photographer.

Plus I got this nice spotted bass while bank fishing the shores of Lake Lanier the day before racing resumed.

Here is a nice spotted bass (not a largemouth the locals tell me) that I caught off a spawning bed while shore fishing. Fish was 4 lbs and an awesome fighter.

Ok enough fishing nonsense, Drag racing time!

With the delay due to last weeks heavy rains the pros would get two qualifying sessions Friday followed by eliminations on Saturday.
