With all the races/sports/scenery stuff I shoot I have been falling further and further behind on blogs. In an effort to catch up I am going to try something new. Instead of giant write ups a month or two after the event I am going to start posting within 24 hours my top 10 shots from each day at the races and Olympics in what I will now refer to as the 10 Spot. For all the events I am behind on I will only be doing 10 total shots from the entire weekend. Starting with NHRA Denver this weekend I will do a 10 Spot from each day of racing. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!

The above shot was taken after the final round in funny car where Ron Capps picked up the win. After opening a can of Full Throttle Energy Drink , Ron took a large drink and proceeded to bathe the Wally and a few seconds after the photo he gave me a bath. Thanks Ron!

Below, the sky reflects in the helmet visor of pro stock motorcycle rider Scotty Pollacheck as he waits in the staging lanes to race during qualifying for the Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

In the below shot of top fuel driver Shawn Langdon it was shot through his windscreen as he sat strapped in the car. The blue all around is the blue sky reflecting off the screen, the orange and red shape around Langdon is actually a crew member standing next to the car. Had the crew member not been there I would have just had a blue frame and you never would have seen Shawns eyes.

During Saturday qualifying, top fuel dragster driver Bruce Litton would shoot a shower of sparks and flames from one side of his engine as he raced alongside J.R. Todd.

Prior to driver introductions on Sunday morning of the race, Brandon Bernstein took a moment to sign an autograph on the shirt of a young NHRA fan. This is a prime example of why this sport is so great and family friendly.

One of my favorite shots from the weekend was this one of NHRA top fuel dragster driver J.R. Todd that I shot by getting on the ground and shooting up through the engine area on another car next to his to frame him as he stood during the National Anthem.
