I was fortunate enough to shoot my sixth Indianapolis 500, in my opinion still the biggest race in the world. My luck hadn’t been all to great the past few years. That would change this year!
.It is finally time to bring my “Best of 2011″ series to an end with everyones favorite category (except those who appear in these pics) with my Best of Crash and Burn. Not many years ago many of the crashes you see in this post would have resulted in injuries for the drivers but thanks to todays safety technology every driver seen in this blog would walk away. The same can’t be said for their race cars!
.The highlight of May every year for me is knowing I will be in Indiana shooting the greatest motorsporting event in the world, the Indianapolis 500. With 2011 being the 100th anniversary of the first race it was guaranteed to be a big deal. Little did we know, those of us in attendance would also witness one of the most exciting 500 finishes ever.
.Its the end of 2010 so its time for my third installment of my best of blogs from the year. First up will be my best celebration and dejection photos for the year.
.Every year when May comes around I get excited to go cover my favorite race of the year, the Indianapolis 500. Nothing can compare to the history and tradition of the 500. Off to the races!
.Keeping up a feature I began last year during the first year of my blog I once again bring you the best images of my 2009. First up on tap is my favorite celebration images of the year.
.In the many motorsport events I cover every year I typically witness several crashes. While most are simple spins into the wall, sometime it is hard impacts and explosions and sometimes even flips. Continue on to see some of the dramatic moments I witnessed in 2008.

So 2008 is in its final month so I figured what better way to remember the great year than by throwing together several best of 2008 galleries. I plan to do several in these last few weeks of the year. I will start it off with my favorite celebration photos of the year.
.Immediately after shooting the day baseball game in Arlington I headed to the airport (after a stop at a Dallas area Chilis) Was supposed to fly out at 8pm but of course my flight ended up delayed till 1030pm. Killed a few hours at the Chilis in the airport terminal before finally boarding the commuter jet for my flight to Kansas City. After the long line at the rental car counter I finally ended up at my hotel room at 1am. Ok no big deal right. Well did I mention the 3.5 hour drive to the track in Iowa at 8am?
