Here is my 10 Spot featuring my favorite images from Sunday at NHRA in Dallas. This was race two of the six race playoff to determine our 2012 Champions. By the end of this day we would eliminate several drivers from any realistic shot at the season championship. Buckle up!

Be sure to check out my weekly photo blog I do featuring the nine Toyota Racing drivers. Click the below banner to check out the blog!

Below, top fuel driver Morgan Lucas looks like is isn’t too happy to be sitting in time out prior to the race. Actually Morgan was hanging out waiting for driver introductions in a starting line suite seat. Sweet!

Angie and husband Matt Smith spend a little quality time together prior to the start of the race.

One person who didn’t have a good time was funny car driver Tim Wilkerson who had his hands full with a 300 mph fireball in the first round. Wilkerson would win the round and get the car repaired for the second round where he would lose.

One of the biggest matchups of the day was this second round race between Don Schumacher Racing teammates (and top two guys in the points) Tony Schumacher and Spencer Massey. Massey would win the close race.

Jim Yates (center) and the rest of the Mopar Racing crew celebrates pro stock driver Allen Johnson’s semi final round win.

Funny car driver Alexis DeJoria had her friend Jesse James at the track on Sunday as her guest. In the below shot you can see Jesse kneeled down watching alongside Alexis. Behind Alexis was Jesses son, Jesse Jr. I don’t think he liked the up close view quite as much as dad!

Jesse looked like he was having fun out there. I have shot him racing in off road trucks before but it would be much cooler to see him in a funny car!

Lets skip to some shots of the winners.

Pro stock motorcycle would feature a first time winner in Michael Ray. It is always fun to shoot a first time winner. The celebrations are always special.

Pro stock would be won by a happy Allen Johnson who beat Erica Enders in the final.

As Allen was celebrating, Erica came over to congratulate him. What happened next was unexpected to say the least…

Erica would lean in to kiss Allen on the cheek I think but he bobbed when he should have weaved and Erica would plant an awkward kiss on his lips. The only kiss I can recall more awkward than that was my first kiss back in high school. Talk about a mess!

In funny car it would be Bob Tasca III picking up the Wally. It was my first time shooting a race in which he won so it was cool to get those photos for my giant NHRA archive.

In top fuel, Antron Brown would rebound from a painful first round exit at the previous event in Charlotte to go all the way and take the win. The win vaulted him up into a tie with teammate Spencer Massey for the championship points lead!

Next up is NHRA in St. Louis this weekend. Should be a fun one!
