Baseball has the World Series, Football has the Super Bowl, when it comes to NHRA, the biggest race on the calendar is the prestigious US Nationals near Indianapolis. I am weeks behind on posting this blog due to an out of control work schedule so lets jump right in.
.A new category in my best of series this year is my best portraits. While I rarely shoot portraits I have been doing my best to make an effort to start doing more so I can get better at them. While the photos in this post are not on the level of my sports action stuff I will share them anyways.
.About eight months ago had someone asked me about the UFL I most likely would have responded with UF huh? But after covering the new league from nearly the beginning of their inaugural season I can now say I know nearly everything about the league. The mini first season came to a close last week in Las Vegas for the UFL Championship game.
.With all the mainstream professional sports I cover these days it has really knocked down the amount of drag racing I have been able to cover. I really love shooting drag racing so in the few events I shot this year I made it a point to work as hard as I could to produce some quality images. So here are my favorite drag racing photos of 2008.
.On a very rare weekend in town with nothing for me to do, I got a hold of my buddy Lina. After finding out she was just as bored, we met up to toy around with more studio stuff. This time we would shoot indoors. I was fully expecting to crash and burn since I had never really done a three lighting set up. Continue reading to see how this turns out.
.Once again I went with Lina out to the Arizona desert to do some more practice on my portrait shooting. This time we also had highly rated high school basketball player.
.Nikon D3, 14-24mm, 1250iso, f6.3, 1/50th with Alien Bee 1600watt strobe
With a rare week in town I decided it was time to do some practicing on my portrait shooting. I got a hold of Lina, a model I had shot with before. Rounded up Naomi my assistant and off into the Arizona desert we went.
