For the third weekend in a row I would find myself at yet another drag race, this time up in the Pacific Northwest as we wrapped up the “Western Swing” which took us to Denver, Sonoma and finally Seattle. I last shot at this track back in 2005, my last year in the Navy when I was stationed in the Seattle area. I have done pretty well at this track with getting some cool photos and this year would be no different.

The NHRA season always ends in Pomona, CA but it always conflicts with my NASCAR schedule as its always during the race weekend in my hometown of Phoenix. This year I decided a month in advance that I would be doing Pomona and skipping NASCAR. Keep reading and you will see that I made the right decision.

The past two weeks I have been busy shooting drag racing and while I have had fun (excluding my 10k loss) I really didn’t get much as far as wild action so I was a very happy guy to know the next stop on my schedule would be NASCAR on the craziest track on the circuit, Talladega!

After nearly three months off of NASCAR (thats longer than their offseason) I found myself back at the track to shoot the Pricechopper 400 at the Kansas Speedway. While it is not a track known for much action (at all) at least its a gorgeous facility and more importantly, a short flight!

After a wild and crazy weekend of NHRA in Phoenix it was on to Vegas for NASCAR. Driving up to the shoot I thought to myself it was going to be very tough for Vegas to top Phoenix. Boy was I right. Try not to fall asleep during this blog!

Every year I promise myself I am going to go nuts with baseball, do multiple remotes at every game all season and produce some great images but something always happens. I get lazy! Well heres a look at my best baseball photos of 2009 before motivation departed and laziness set in.

As with the previous four years of covering NASCAR the final race of the 2009 season would once again be all about Jimmie Johnson. This time he was closing in on a historic (and unprecedented) fourth straight championship.

After several weeks in the past few months on the road covering NASCAR it was great to have a weekend at home as NASCAR made their second stop of the year to the Phoenix International Raceway for the second to last race on the year. While PIR isn’t known for exciting races it is absolutely known in the motor sports photography world for some amazing light. Check it out.

Since major league baseball opened their 2009 season a few days ago I figured it was about time to post some of my favorite shots from the few spring training games I found time to shoot this year. Normally I try to shoot 15-20 games during spring training but this time I shot 6. So here we go.

The Craftsman Truck Series race is usually one of the best races I shoot all year. Sadly this year was the exception to the rule and all my best images during the race were of the drunk fans.
