Race two of the 60th anniversary season for the NHRA took us to warm and sunny Gainesville, Florida for one of the crown jewels of the tour, the Gatornationals. This is one of a handful of NHRA tracks I had never been to so I went into the weekend with no clue what I was going to do or how I would do it. On to the races!

For most people the July 4th weekend is spent with family, friends and fireworks. Not for me, the July 4th weekend means one thing to me. Daytona. While the summer time temperature in Florida is ridiculously hot the action on the track is usually hotter. Lets get on with it.

As the July 4th weekend approaches most people think of things such as outdoor barbeques, the beach and fireworks. For me there is only one thing I think of and that is NASCAR racing on the historic high banks of the Daytona International Speedway.
