A few months ago I posted this blog on a assignment I did for ESPN the Magazine on college pitcher Stephen Strasburg. It was a successful and fun shoot but the story got cancelled. A few months later the story was resurrected so I figured I would post an update showing how the story ran and the pictures they used.
.
After the previous day of shooting college baseball pitcher Stephen Strasburg in Dallas and having my flight home cancelled I flew home the morning of the Elite 8 game between Missouri and Uconn. I knew it would be a rough game on me since I would be completely worn out but as with every shoot I would still give it full effort in hopes of getting something great. Sadly great wasn’t in the cards for me.
.A few months back I had the privilege of shoot behind the scenes with NFL superstar Kurt Warner for an ESPN.com story. With ESPN writer Wayne Drehs in tow we got to work documenting Kurts life on and off the field.
.After a great shoot just 7 hours prior in Phoenix it was a lovely 6am wakeup call New Years day to hop on a plane for the quick jump over to LA for the Rose Bowl. I was tired, sore and cranky but the gorgeous weather and great light motivated me to cheer up in time for a New Years tradition.
.Beyond all the successes and events I shot during 2008, nothing can compare to my 3 weeks in Beijing, China covering the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was my first Olympics and allowed me the chance to try and compete with the worlds best sports photographers. It was a very long, exciting, eye opening trip.
