After missing my first Rose Bowl in six years I was excited to make the trip a few days later to sunny California to cover the BCS Championship game which is essentially the second biggest football game on Earth behind the Super Bowl. All that I could think about leading up to the game was I hoped to have a good game and not screw up.

For the last several years I have spent New Years eve in Tempe, AZ covering the Insight Bowl. I am guessing most of you have never heard of the game and would wonder why I’d waste my evening covering a bowl game nobody cares about. My answer is simple. For the first 30 minutes of the game it has some of the most amazing light that I get at any stadium in the country. Continue reading to see what I am talking about.

Since every TV channel, website and publication has done their moments/photos of the decade I decided I should probably do the same. While I am sure I am missing numerous worthy photos (due to a few dead hard drives and my laziness to scan negatives) here are 50 of my favorite images from the last decade. Enjoy!
Next to racing, football is my favorite sport to shoot. Due to some pending legal issues I am reluctantly excluding NFL images from this year in the blog (so a lot of my best shots are missing) but here is the best of non NFL football from 2009. Enjoy!
Keeping up a feature I began last year during the first year of my blog I once again bring you the best images of my 2009. First up on tap is my favorite celebration images of the year.
My schedule this year had prevented me from covering Arizona State football games all season, thankfully I had a free day which enabled by to cover their last game of the season against home state rival University of Arizona. It is always their biggest game of the year so that plus the fact the stadium is only 10 minutes from my house had me pretty excited for the shoot.

About eight months ago had someone asked me about the UFL I most likely would have responded with UF huh? But after covering the new league from nearly the beginning of their inaugural season I can now say I know nearly everything about the league. The mini first season came to a close last week in Las Vegas for the UFL Championship game.

After shooting random press conferences and practices leading up to the first season of the United Football League (UFL) it was finally time for the real thing. The UFL really hadn’t done much in regards to marketing and promotion for the season so nobody knew what to expect as kick off time approached at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The only thing that was for sure was that it would be a game of firsts!
So I decided that I have lots of cool photos from the past several years I have been shooting and since I didn’t have a blog back then most haven’t been seen by you guys. With that in mind I have decided to start posting short blogs highlighting random images from my archive. Along with the image I plan to include some background info on the image and how it was shot. Continue reading to here more about the photo.

As the United Football League (UFL) season approaches I once again found myself down in Casa Grande, AZ to cover a practice. Instead of a daytime practice like the previous shoot this would take place under the lights. I expected the lights on the practice field to be crappy but I would find out it wasn’t too bad. With a trunk full of gear, Jennifer and I headed 49 miles south for what would be my last UFL shoot before the season begins with the inaugural game set to kick off Oct. 8th in Las Vegas.
