NASCAR is one of my favorite sports to shoot. In 2009 I found myself covering several more races than I initially planned at the start of the season. Thats a good thing though because it allowed me to get some pretty cool shots which makes for a better year in NASCAR photos! Enjoy.

Keeping up a feature I began last year during the first year of my blog I once again bring you the best images of my 2009. First up on tap is my favorite celebration images of the year.
With the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in their playoffs, also known as the Chase, it is now time for me to shoot less football and now focus on lots and lots of NASCAR. My first of seven playoff races I will be covering was at the 1.5 mile Kansas Speedway. While it is not one of my favorite tracks, it is a nice facility and (most importantly) its a less than two hour flight from my home in Phoenix.

Typically on this weekend every year I venture to Dover, Delaware to shoot NASCAR but after three consecutive years shooting that event I felt it was time for a change so I decided to head to Topeka, Kansas to cover the ground pounding 320mph vehicles of the NHRA.

As 2008 began, it would end with me on the sidelines shooting a college bowl game. Although the Insight Bowl is a small game few care about it is one of my favorite games because if the sun is out (which it usually is in Arizona) there is great light to take advantage of. And take advantage of it I did.

In the many motorsport events I cover every year I typically witness several crashes. While most are simple spins into the wall, sometime it is hard impacts and explosions and sometimes even flips. Continue on to see some of the dramatic moments I witnessed in 2008.

For some reason I chose to do the NASCAR race in Kansas City even though I hate shooting at this track. The first two days of horrible shooting made me realize why I hate the race but the last day did a pretty good job of making the weekend worth while.
